Author and activist S. Bear Bergman came and shared his wisdom and knowledge at Bar Wotever Tuesday 18 Feb 2014
From my FaceBook ramblings:
‘How great it is to sit back, knowing and trusting the person on stage will say and express motions and ideas you and your mind want to hear, understand and have experienced. Sometimes, life is tough as you have to fight, always feel ‘wrong’ having to explain to others why you look like you do, love and have sex with the people you do, then this bliss by NOT having to ‘fight’ and explain or even to feel wrong… is such a bliss. The packed room of RVT last night was breathing in synch, lapping up S. Bear Bergmans every word, every motion. It is rare we have this, but when we do – it is oh so delightful.
We need more of our own kind of recognition, understanding and shared knowledge, and yes I know there were people who this might not have been their life/experience – but oh how lovely that at least you got to hear this too! As we all get richer the more stories and varieties we hear and share…
Widen the nets and we will have a better understanding!
Thank you all who gave support to this event! Maria, Liam, Dr J, Neil, Jo Bunny and RVT and above all S. Bear Bergman! We keep on sharing, and next Tuesday we do even MORE! X’
