Queer Experiments at Ritzy

What if we tell about our queer experiments? Would anyone listen?

Queer Experiments lived up to its name (and then some!), and happened in all its sunshine-y glory at the Ritzy on 25th June. The weather perfectly reflected the warmth of the beautiful crowd who attended, to make this a joyous evening of all things queer. The tube system may have tried to make things as difficult as possible to attend the event, but you can’t keep determined queers away from what they seek.

An attentive and appreciative audience sampled the delights of an eclectic mix of erotic prose, poetry and art, as well as witty, sassy performance. Hosted with typical aplomb by Ingo, all were made to feel welcome and included in a space that recognizes and celebrates our differences, our individuality, our sexualities, identities and sense of true community. The atmosphere fair crackled with a sexual charge, not usually felt in the confines ofthe Ritzy! If a play space had been available, who knows where the evening would’ve

taken us? This night proved (if indeed, there was ever a doubt) that queer folks can both enjoy and create art and performance that excites, entertains and expands our horizons. Humour, love (and a good dose of happy perversity) was shared by audience and performers alike, making this an experiment with magical results.
