17 May is IDAHO – International Day against Homo and Transphobia.

Over the year we have seen vicious attacks and murder, just based on who you love and how you represent you and your gender. We have also seen an increase in suicides amongst young LGBT and Queer people…

Last years IDAHO day we at Bar Wotever made a video based on Lily Allen’s Fuck You as a reaction of our anger. In the video which was filmed very late, just before we closed the bar,  performers, crew and audience got together and created something heartfelt… See that video here

This year we take the inspiration from our own survival. Celebrating everyone that day in and day out get homo and trans abuse shouted at them, every time we get questioned and made feel insignificant…. many times this makes life hard and many consider suicide  or ways to  end it all…..So, for all of our brothers and sisters who have gone and all of us who are still here we would like to sing/shout and make a film of the classic ‘I Will Survive’ see Gloria Gaynor sing it here Learn the lyrics, Dress Up And be Part of it!
